CANDIDA: USEFUL INFORMATION

Exercise and a positive outlook are also important as this stimulates the immune system and the metabolism, and it is a combination of all these things that lead to a positive result in the end.

The absorption of nutrients is affected by this breakdown in the normal gut intestinal flora. It is important to supplement your balanced diet with at least a multivitamin mineral preparation and it is a good idea to increase the vitamin C level to at least 2000 mg a day. The use of essential fatty acids is also important in the treatment, especially the monosaturated type such as olive oil and soybean oil. One teaspoon daily is recommended.

Vitamin C and zinc are essential in building the immune system and strengthening and revitalising the whole body. Following long-term Candida infestation the immune system is weakened and unable to cope adequately with other infections at the same time as the Candida infestation, so again the need for supplements is brought about. The herb, Echinacea, is also important here to help activate the immune system.

One of the most important things to remember is that a Candida infection can be cured and that if you follow the diet, that is, high roughage, complex carbohydrate diet, low in dairy products, low in yeast, with virtually no refined carbohydrates, then you will make it difficult for the Candida albicans to flourish. Follow that with garlic to help knock down the infestation and recolonise with the Lactobacillus acidophilus.
